Atkins Diet Recipe: Low Carb Slow Cooked Grilled Ribs

Please check it out at our website @ www.amongfriends.us ** In partnership with FaveDiets ( http ) recipe site, one of my fellow recipe vloggers and friends, SmokeyGoodness, (www.youtube.com asked me for my recipe for the ribs I made last weekend. It just so happened that St. Louis-style ribs again were on special for an awesome $1.59 per pound at my local grocer. I was happy enough to oblige him with this video. In an era of nearly $4/lb bacon, ribs are a fantastic deal and serve as great way to continue the grilling season. I prefer the slow cook method to grilling ribs and chose to use the oven instead of the grill or smoker (which I don't have) simply to preserve my propane supply as long as possible. SmokeyGoodness used his charcoal grill in his 4-Flip Ribs (bit.ly for that purpose. I'll fully admit that is a better solution, but I don't have a charcoal option currently. A couple final notes: * in between takes, I helped out at the annual Fall Festival for the Fire Department, which led to the change of shirts. * The sauce on top of the ribs is a low carb BBQ sauce from Heinz. Low Carb 3 minute Chocolate Cake (IF)

I hope you guys are as successful as I have been on low carb, and it is always great to hear from you. Low Carb Chocolate Cake (courtesy of Linda's Low Carb Site) 1 TBS Butter, microwave for 10 seconds to soften 1 Egg 1 TBS Da Vinci SF Vanilla syrup 2 TBS Splenda 1 TBS heavy cream Pinch salt 2 TBS cocoa Mix together all the ingredients until it is as smooth as possible. It should look similar to cake batter at this point. Microwave for 1 minute. For the special treat, add 1 TBS of whipped heavy cream (sweetened with Splenda). BBQ Brisket Recipe (Low Carb) - Twice-Cooked in a Smoker - Part 2

A fatty portion of the brisket called the Fat Cap is normally smoked and served as is. Its flavor, however, when smoked just once isn't that good because of the excess fat. I toss this part of the brisket back into the smoker for a second complete smoke/cook to render the excess fat, producing spicy and tender "burnt ends" that are a real treat. The recipe is simple, 1) calculate the cook time as 1.25 * the weight of the brisket in pounds; 2) coat the brisket with dry rub; 3) cook or smoke for the cook time; 4) remove the flat and put the fat cap back in to cook or smoke for another cook time; 5) then you are done. Atkins Diet: Do we aloof appetite our old lives back?

This video is a response to the low carb critics (180degreehealth.blogspot.com who insist our low carb decisions just cover up our desire / cravings to return to our old high carb lifestyle. I was a low carber myself for 8 months and know that it did absolutely nothing to tone down the addictive quality of sugar. My experience is like madMUUUHs, low carb put my sugar cravings to sleep in everyday situations, only to come back with an outrageous vengeance whenever I did permit myself some sweets." My recipe videos demonstrate what I think are interesting to watch as well as eat. Steak or chicken fajita salads might be awesome low carb meals to eat. They would be dull to watch me make in a video. Many of these savory things are often simpler to make with only one or two ingredients. The dessert recipes are typically more ingenious and more unique items. My intention behind the recipe videos has never been to capture what my diet looks like, but what options are open to those on a low carb lifestyle. As for wanting my old life or comfort foods back, I personally do not want it back. There is no part of my body that thinks candy bars would be a great addition to my life or that I should return back to a frozen pizza fiend. Krispy Kremes (even fresh from the fryer) in comparison to Buffalo Wings just is no choice.

Low Carb Almond Sugar Cookie recipe/HCG Phase 3 Friendly

YUMMY P3 COOKIE RECIPE!!! - 1 bag 16 oz. Almond Flour 4 cups Splenda (granulated) 2 sticks butter (softened at room temp) 4 eggs 4 tsp Vanilla 1 tsp baking soda 1 tsp Baking powder 4 tsp Almond flavoring Cinnamon to taste Pre-heat oven to 375 F.. Line baking sheets w/ parchment paper, non stick baking mat OR be cool and use a stone pan :-). BEAT ALL ingredients together until well mixed. Form onto baking pan and flatten with fork (or finger, like I did). Sprinkle w/ granulated sweetner (I used Z Sweet). Bake for 15-23 min. (depending on your oven) until light brown. Allow to cool for 2 min. then remove to wire rack to cool. Store in ziplock bag. (low-carb-news.blogspot.com I bumped up the cream cheese (or actually neufchatel cheese) content and altered the crust slightly to my favored nut crust. I really like this recipe if you have company, and want to set some bars out for people to eat with their hands. The butter in the filling helps hold the cheesecake like a bar as opposed to how cheesecake typically feels. If you do wish it to be Induction friendly, you can drop the fruit and the crust from the recipe, but of my reading of DANDR, the crust (sans whey protein) should be legal for those after the first 14-day Induction period. Here is the recipe as I made it: Topping: * 12 oz Neufchatel cream cheese, softened * 1 egg * ½ cup sour cream * ½ cup SPLENDA® Granular * 2 tbsp unsalted butter * 1 tsp vanilla extract * 1/2 cup canned fruit cocktai, strawberries, or blueberries I bumped up the cream cheese a bit more to make the bars a bit bigger and a bit more like cheesecake. I estimate that I could get 18 small pieces from my recipe or more likely 12-15 servings. Recipe: Low-carb, sugar-free, gluten-free almond cookies

This is a recipe for almond cookies that are low-carb, sugar-free and gluten-free. Before you begin, pre-heat your oven to 300F. You'll need: - 2 cups almond flour (ie ground almonds) - 1/2 cup Splenda (or equivalent liquid Splenda) - 1 stick (1/2 cup) butter - 1/2 tsp salt (omit if you used salted butter) - 1 tsp pure vanilla extract - 1 tsp pure almond extract Combine all ingredients. Form dough into walnut-sized balls and place onto greased cookie sheet. Bake for 5 minutes. Press down lightly with fork. (Optional: You may also place an almond in the middle of the cookie.) Return to oven and bake for another 15 minutes. Let cool and enjoy! 30 carbs for entire batch - less if you use liquid Splenda (ie Sweetzfree).
